Gloria Marsay

Gloria Marsay, PhD – is an educator and registered educational psychologist 
with Master’s degrees in Social and Behavioural Sciences and a Doctorate in Educational Psychology from the University of Johannesburg. She is currently a re
search fellow at the University of the Free State in the Department of Practical and 
Missional Theology and a member of a WERA-recognised International Research 
Network studying Hope and Social Emotional Learning. She is a board member of 
the IAEVG. Dr Marsay has authored numerous book chapters and journal articles, 
co-edited 'Social and Emotional Learning as Foundation for Future Readiness: Translating 
Research to Practice' (Springer, 2025), and presented extensively at international con
ferences. Her work is driven by a strong commitment to amplifying the voice of the 
Global South.
